Feast of the Ascension 
in St Birinus, Dorchester

St Birinus' Church is stunning, one of the very few Catholic churches with a Rood Screen, lending an extra dimension to celebrations of the Traditional Mass. The church was built in the 1850s by architect William Wardell, a follower of Pugin, and has in recent years undergone extensive restoration and embellishment.

Holy Trinity, Hethe

This lovely church celebrates its annual Patronal Feast, Trinity Sunday, with a High Mass.

In 2016, Trinity Sunday falls on Sunday 22nd May, and Mass will be presided at by Bishop Robert Byrne, formerly of the Oxford Oratory, now an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.


Holy Trinity, Hethe, is the oldest working Catholic church in Oxfordshire, with the exception of the chapel at Mapldurham: for more information about its history, see here.


28th May, 11am, Bl Margaret Pole, 
Sung Dominican Mass at Blackfriars

Bl Margart Pole, Countess of Salisbury, the mother of Cardinal Pole, 
was executed by King Henry VIII on 28th May 1541.

In 2016, a Sung Mass will be celebrated by Fr Richard Conrad OP, in the Dominican Rite.
