The Priory of the Holy Spirit (Blackfriars)
St Giles, Oxford OX1 3LY
House of the Dominican Order, and Permanent Private Hall of Oxford University.
Prior: Fr John O'Connor OP

Blackfriars has been the venue of the Latin Mass Society Oxford Pilgrimage since 2008; this takes place annually in late October, with a Solemn Mass in the Priory Church in the Dominican Rite, a procession through the streets to one of Oxford's two sites of martyrdom, and finally Benediction in the Priory Church. In 2008 Bishop William Kenney blessed a plaque in honour of the martyrs of 1589; in 2010 Archbishop Longley blessed a plaque in honour of Bl George Napier, who died in 1610.

Other Masses are celebrated here in the Dominican Rite, usually a High Mass is celebrated each University Term. See here for a report on a Missa Cantata celebrated for Bl Margaret Pole in 2016.
